MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
The Eritrean American Community of Houston encourages all Eritreans who are eligible to become official members of the community. See below for guidelines.
The membership year is from February 1st to January 30th each year. The board shall set the annual membership fees.

Regular Member
- Any Eritrean over the age of 18 interested in the aim and objectives of the community.
- Fulfilled his obligation to the annual membership fee set by the board.
- Adheres to the bylaws of the community.

Honorary Member
- Any person approved by the community Annual General Meeting, upon the recommendation of the board.
- Membership fees shall not be assessed.
- Is subject to the bylaws of the community.

Rights and Privileges of a Member
Any member with good standing is entitled to:
- Receive notice of meetings of the community.
- Participate and vote at all community meetings.
- Elect and to be elected as a board member.
- A member is entitled to one vote

Termination of Membership
- A member may terminate his membership by sending written notice to the Secretary or the President of the community.
- If a member who has not paid the annual membership fee within six (6) months following the due date, the member is considered to have submitted his resignation.
- Any member may be expelled from the membership for any reason which the community deems reasonable upon a majority vote of the members of the community in good standing.
Termination Procedure
- A member may be suspended or terminated without written notice.
- The member may appear before the board to address the matter.
